The night before christmas

I'm slowly emerging from last night festivities. Spent the all night talking, laughing, eating and drinking, one of the best christmas eve I had in years. Not even mentioning the wonderful treats I got. But more on that later. I hope everyone celebrating Christmas had a peaceful and cheerful time. A much neeeded human respite and connection with loved ones.

Because I never post evening outfits, I thought I'd share these (low quality 3G, sorry) shots. As often, I settled for a low-key evening look: navy silky dress, a bit of sparkle around the neck, a grey cashmere cardi (because it's winter and I don't have a chauffered heated car driving me around town) and black pumps. Added smoky eyes and a casual bun to the mix to get a cosy-yet-I-made-an-effort-look.

Once again I tapped into my favorite night out inspiration: Lanvin by Alber Elbaz, especially the spring 2003 collection, with its retro loose drapey silhouette adorned with just the right amount of bling and modest skin showing, agrees perfectly with my desire to feel elegant, grown up and comfortable.

    1. That's very kind, thanks a lot! You're so lucky to have Lanvin clothing by Alber Elbaz... Besides his charming personality, I love how his approach to womenswear is so respectful of women and I guess it's one of the key to his success at Lanvin.
I hope you're enjoying the Holidays! Merry Christmas to you too!

  2. happy holidays! i love your understated approach to holiday dressing...in the past i've tried various glitzy ensembles, but now i feel much more 'me' in a simpler outfit with some fun accessories. though i don't have any of AE's pieces, i love the Lanvin aesthetic - so simple & sensual!

    1. My anwer comes a bit late but thanks a lot! I hope you enjoyed your holidays as much as I did. I also realized that not "stressing" on my outfits and feeling myself in what I was wearing made me appreciate the occasion even more!

  3. Happy post-holidays! Like Miss Sophie I like your low-key approach to holiday dressing as well. I swear I'm allergic to glitziness, I feel like I'd probably go your route when it comes to dressing, definitely loving this Christmas Eve look.

    1. Thank you! When I was younger, dressing up really meant going all the way out for me. Now I stick with what I've got and what I like!
