Millefeuille

My outfit for the last saturday of November is quite a millefeuille cake, lots of layers. Well the weather commands and I didn't find a better way yet to navigate between the cold and windswept streets and over heated indoors.

The inspiration behind this week-end look came from the plaid shirt and the shearling lined boots which both share a rustic feel so I went for an interpretation of the country gentlewoman/trapper act...

As a result I played with the usual sartorial codes attached to the look:  leather, wool, jeans, plaid. Simple and natural materials for a low-key and functional allure.
I therefore reached for my old elbow leather patch cardi, favorite jeans, to top it all off a falsely classic cut wool jacket and a saddle bag to stride along.

  1. The cardigan and the blazer look perfect together and definitely lend to a rustic look without being too unkempt. I really like the leopard socks peeking out of the boot as well.

  2. Thanks Prêt! That cardi was one of my first win on ebay years ago, it's pretty old but still holding up well. I had put it aside for awhile but I've recently rediscovered its potential.

Thanks Austere! I was in the mood for that leopard trend but couldn't see myself wearing it as a big piece so I prefer this little (almost unseen)touch for now.

  3. You look great! I had that shirt, but in the large tunic version. It was just too big for me, so I sold it. I still love the fabric.
