Wishlust

At every turn of season, I can't help wanting more. Not a complete 180° makeover, but you know adding a few pieces.

Some, because in serious need of replacement before they die on me, others because I need a plan B and last but not least the most dangerous ones, the just because.

I need/want them just because of the single pleasure they provoke when I lay my eyes on them. It's lust. Purely and simply.

Now that I've achieved to collect what I truly needed for fall and winter (more on that later), here's what I'm lusting for.
  • Ever since I saw this pinstriped mini skirt at Dries van Noten and even more after trying it on, I've been hooked on it. I don't even know if it's still in stock. It's so good: the material, the cut. Not so good: its price.

  •  I thought it wouldn't last but my obsession with the Trio lingers on. Every time, I see it, I'm gushing. It's just incredibly cute and streamlined and not me in a minimal capacity way. I'm pretty set on getting this! When? To be determined. Even though I generally dislike white bags, I can't help but feel attracted to the one worn by Lily Aldridge below. It's insane I'm telling you.

  • After finally getting an alternative option to my very old -Colisée de Sacha- and single pair of black boots, I'm developping serial crushes on boots, from Hope to Saint-Laurent via Aterlier Mercadal or APC. No I don't need all these boots but damn, those S-L would look so so nice ...

Obviously, all would be wonderful if said items were affordable, not selling out quickly or scarce and hard to find. So for the time being, I'm sitting these ones out and waiting for either wining the loto or more seriously and surely, saving enough to purchase what makes my heart go boom.

What are the items you're coveting ? Do you intend to get them in the near future?

  1. I always have tons of bookmarks on things I'm watching, in case they go on sale. I'm still after those Chloe Susan boots even though they're everywhere, but I want the original cherry red color which is no longer produced. There's a pair on eBay in my size but the seller is selling them for $300 above the retail price which is so ridiculous, but it's on my watch list in case the price drops dramatically!

I know what you mean about the Trio - even though it's everywhere I don't get tired of seeing it. I saw a pale gray color that was just gorgeous, but I'm imagining blue jeans rubbing off on it or something.

    1. Have you tried Vestiaire Collective for the Chloé boots? I don't know if they'll have the original cherry red ones but there are gems there sometimes.
I called a Céline store this week and due to fashion week madness, the black/navy are apparently out of stock (again)! Maybe for this coming x-mas...

  2. I am trying to track down that skirt in a size FR 34, I don't think its going to happen though as Dries has stick selling rules and I live no where near a store. The Celine trio is great, I have it in navy, I love the black and burgundy versions too.

    1. I love Dries but his distribution is terrible even if it has gotten a little better recently. I live near enough a store and corners yet the stock of some items fly away so fast. Once the item you want is gone, it's next to impossible to get your hands on it. I was planning on calling the store this monday to enquire about the availability of the skirt. Drop me an email if you want me to check for the 34.
Lucky you! The Trio in navy looks so so good and I almost left the store once with the burgundy but I was too broke!

    2. Alex, I don't know if you live in the US, but I believe Nordstrom's carries that skirt.

  3. Re: the boots, I think so too !!
I admire your restreint. I don't know if my impression is distorted but it seems that sales are far more interesting and frequent in the US than in France.
Here once in awhile, there are promotions but rarely on brands or items I'm interested in so the wait till January for "real" sales seems so so long and a risk to not get my hands on what I want the most.

  4. I love all your covets, Aissa! Have you checked out Les Prairies' Chelsea boot yet? Much kinder prices than SL;) I totally agree with you; the change of weather inevitably brings a renewed desire to revamp my wardrobe, especially in fall. This year in particular, I'm trying to break free from my typical cool-weather uniform of black jeans, big sweater, black ankle boots, which means lot of new covets! In terms of planned purchases for the season, the only thing I really "need" is a pair of basic black trousers, preferable a wool blend. I'm thinking a pair of the Hope Krissy or Judge trousers, but I haven't tried either on. Besides that jacquard Dries skirt I love, my lust/covet items for fall/winter include the Acne Dixie sweater and the Dries navy turtleneck sweater. The latter two are much more practical, but my heart swoons for the unique architecture of that Dries skirt. If I can sell enough things/save enough before it sells out, I will definitely submit to my heart's desire! In terms of crazy/impractical purchases (of which I seem to make at least one every season), I kind of want creepers. I know. Why? Why? At least I never got those IM wedge sneakers ;)

    1. I'm not checking out any boots anymore or else I'll go cray-cray! Haha! I bought (even more than) what I needed so far now it's shopping pause.
Isn't it funny? I've had the Hope Krissy in mind too!! The fit looks like the perfect mix of relaxed but classic. What's bugging me too is that I'd prefer to try it on before purchasing it, especially taking in account that I'm not sure about my size... Anyway, like I said I'm on pause...
Cos made some kind of copy of the Dixie but failed. The original is so so good...
Ah Dries keeps killing us! I've seen the jaquard skirt again but I didn't want to be tempted so I didn't try it on but I didn't know you still had it on your mind. But then it's hard to shake off such beauty!
Creepers are classics! Ever since the Pradas I've had a soft spot for them. I saw some kind of black creepers boots in the latest "Jalouse" styled in such a cool way... Again I'm putting heavy brakes or else I'd be off buying these.

    2. Thanks! I'm trying to keep it all a bit coherent but it's so great to step out of one's comfort style zone right? I especially love your high heeled sandals! I hope the planets will align for you and you'll get what you want for the new year! It's coming down so fast!

  6. Ah I want the Trio very much but hesitated because it felt too extravagant to buy another bag that I will only use on weekends for much money! I've been test driving my sister's lipstick red Trio and loving it though, sigh. My ideal would be the one in burgundy. Actually if you don't already have a small leather purse and have use for one, I think it's worth the splurge...I feel extravagant because I splurged on a Chanel bag a couple years back and feel like I shouldn't buy any more small bags!

    1. I saw it on your instagram pic. It's a beauty! You're lucky to be able to test drive it. It's such an irresistible bag I don't think I'd give it back easily!! I think it's going to be my xmas gift... If I can find one in black. Burgundy is lovely too. It'd look so great with all shades of blue which you seem to like a lot.
