Tenue du jour: prepared

I try as much as I can to pick up my outfit the night before: it saves a lot of time, energy and I can always sleep a bit more.

After the holidays break, still on sugar high, long nights spent reading, watching Jessica Jones on Netflix and even longer mornings slept in, it took a little time to readjust into my evening preparations.

First morning back to work was brutal, I couldn't wrap my mind on anything, was overwhelmed by choices but felt like nothing was proper or fit (thanks to the above-mentioned sugar I guess). On day 2, rythmn is back on track and here's what I picked up last night.

At first I was ready to pull out pants again especially since it was supposed to be rainy (again) but after checking the weather forecast announcing a cloudy but dry day I decided to go for my old tweed pencil skirt which I had been neglecting in favor of longer, looser skirt/dress.

Once I had figured out the bottom, top and footwear were a no-brainer. The skirt being rather short and tight, I wanted a loose and long sweater and flat shoes to keep it casual enough. The patent brogues are polished enough for work, the knit works everytime with everything.

As for the outerwear, I hesitated with my camel belted coat but out of sheer conformism went with the black one, didn't feel like standing out too much.

Pictures taken after work tonight, I'm all for preparations but not to the point of taking pictures before. And on that note, I'm off to select tomorrow's outfit. This time it will involve pants for sure since rain's back! Good night!

coat: Comptoir des Cotonniers / sweater: Acne Studio / skirt: Isabel Marant Etoile / shoes: Fratelli Rossetti / bag : Céline / scarf: Cos / tights: Falke.

  1. The sassy smirk in the first pic, and the asymmetric/curved hem of the Acne sweater are my favorites! I want to copy this outfit later this week.

  4. Gorgeous. Love your blog and your style. I was surprised by your last line, though. I mostly live in pants but bring out the skirts and dresses for the rainiest days, with good boots, because my tights dry faster than most pants.

    1. Thanks for the kind comment. Re: skirt, dresses vs pants when raining, the pants I'm wearing are almost like tights! So same benefits! Haha! ;))
